Water
Last week was half term and we went up the Gower again for the week camping, and it was bliss!
Rich got his very early 40th birthday present, a sea kayak which we all loved and got much use out of, so much so infact that one day we hired a double so that Tom and I could kayak out at the same time as Rich, with Adam in the middle, and we spent several fab hours exploring.
We did manage to fit in one day walking, at the waterfalls at Neath which are glorious for a days walking. (It amazing too how far the boys will walk when they have friends with them !)
But then it was lots more water, this time it was Adams 8th birthday treat, surfing lessons; they were naturals, I tell you, we have produced two fish, anything water related and they are right in there!
Guy, the teacher at Rhossili was great with the boys, they actually listened to him!
And there was also lots of this…
I should apologise for that one really, but at leat I spared you the knees and THE AMOUNT OF DIRTY CLOTHES… We have been back 2 days and my washing machine is crying, literally crying, those duvet bags came in handy though!
Finally thanks for all your comments on my latest blanket, it is lovely to get feedback!
Holidays
We had a fabulous week in the Gower, how lucky were we with the weather!! We all ate and drank too much, slept a lot, yes, even the boys (bliss) walked, kyaked, cycled, meet some wonderful friends and yes, even a little bit of crocheting!
The coast line is stunning around there, dramatic and varied
Rhossili Bay by Worms Head
Port Eynon
Port Eynon
Three Cliffs Bay
and of course the rock – I love rocks
and shells, so tiny like fragments of ancient artifacts
and … a little bit of crocheting too. Its coming on, slowly but surely. I wish you could feel it, it is so soft I spend most of my time just stroking it!
Enjoying the moment
21st September 09
Inspired by vintage violets fabulous blog, I thought i’d share one of those wonderful moments that often get forgotton in the mists of time. We took the van up to the Gower on Saturday before our favourite site closes up for the winter, and on the Sunday we went to one of my favourite beaches, Rhossili, at the top by Worms head. We timed it well so we could explore the caves and rock pools around the ‘head’
Inspiration is everwhere though, and I have a fab neclace/collar idea from these gorgeous little mussel shells
It was a magic day, and rather than me rambling, i’ll let the picture do the talking.
